The following rules apply for study rooms:
- Only Capital Law students, faculty, and staff may reserve study rooms - please use you @law.capital.edu email address for reservations
- You may reserve rooms for up to 3 hours at a time.
- You may reserve a study room once per day.
- When you make your reservation, you will need to list the names of your study partners. Your partners may not extend the reservation by making additional reservations after your reservation. If you have no study partners, just list N/A.
- Keys must be checked out and in from the circulation desk.
- Reservations will only be held for 15 minutes. After this period, reservations will be cancelled and the room will be released for further checkout.
- If there is a valid reservation and you are in a room, you will be asked to relinquish the room when the person(s) who reserved the room arrives. You must exit quickly and quietly.
- All keys must be turned in by the time the Circulation Department closes at 10 pm.
- Late returns may result in a $10/hour late fee for each hour that the key is late.
- While rare, if a school event arises that requires the use of the study room which you have reserved, your reservation may be cancelled. Library personnel will attempt to book you in a comparable room, but cannot guarantee availability.
- Abuse or "gaming" of these rules may result in the loss of study room reservation and checkout privileges.
Deviation from these rules must be approved by either the Access Services Librarian or the Director of the Law Library.
